We’d love to hear from hoteliers, train operators and rail holiday companies. We hope the following info is useful.
Railway Hotel Reviews
Hotel content on the site breaks broadly into overviews and reviews, so what’s the difference?
Well an overview looks like this.
And a full review looks like this.
Overviews tend to be desk-researched from trusted sources, while full reviews are based on our personal experience of your property.
Whether we pay to stay with you or not, our hotel reviews are thorough, fair and honest. We’re both seasoned, professional writers with over 25 years’ experience between us and a decent vocabulary, so rest assured that the word ‘awesome’ is strictly verboten.
Our reviews give you the following:
- At least 500 words (probably closer to 900 if it’s really good) and 3 images, including a few of our own. The bonnier you are, the more we’ll take and share, prior to the full site review going live.
- Foursquare check-ins and Instagram image shares on the go.
- In the review itself, you’ll get coverage of the hotel’s history (especially any railway heritage), rooms, building & atmosphere, food & drink, service, price ranges, and crucially, your location to nearest train station/s.
- All reviews are shared on our social sites too.
Unlike some sites, we do not charge to review your property, but you’re welcome to discuss separate, tailored advertising options of course.
If you do provide us with a complimentary stay and/or food & drink, we will disclose this transparently, at the foot of the review.
We’re also interested to know about and review any train-themed accommodation – i.e BnBs, rental properties with rail history, former station houses, converted caboose-style or train carriage self catering rentals etc.
If you’d like to simply submit your hotel for consideration for a basic overview, please get in touch using the form at the foot of this page and specifying how your hotel is considered a ‘railway hotel.’
Train Journey / Rail Holiday Reviews
We also welcome opportunities to review train journeys of all types, but especially luxury, long haul and those in the tourist/scenic bracket. We favour a comprehensive FAQ style, so our journey reviews (for luxury or long distance trains) tend to be in excess of 1000 words with at least 4 or 5 images, including some of our own. Here’s an example of what you can expect.
For organised rail holidays, we take a more bespoke approach and agree a plan of coverage in advance suitable to the length, desirability and cost of the trip.
This would likely entail an FAQ style review, plus one or more blog posts which stay on the homepage for at least one month and remain in our archives permanently, plus social shares as standard.
Please let us know if you run a suitable affiliate scheme we can join, with details of commission rates, tracking and attribution system.

Thanks – we look forward to working with you!
